It would appear as if Manchester City is leading the race with Arsenal and Chelsea to sign Hoffenheim attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino.

City along with the two London clubs have been tracking the 23-year-old for some time now and are being tipped as the team to sign the Brazilian sensation this summer after having started negotiations with Hoffenheim and the players representatives.

Firmino moved to Hoffenheim in 2011 for an undisclosed fee from Brazilian club Figueirense and has since become one of the Bundesliga’s brightest talents.

The German side is now ready to cash in on their top asset and will sell to City who expects Firmino to help plug the gap left by the departing Yaya Toure.

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is the player Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini has in mind to build the team around, but sees Firmino as a good supporting actor for striker Sergio Aguero.
