Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is waiting for medical tests to see the extent of Shinji Kagawa’s injured knee.

The midfielder picked up the injury during Tuesday night’s 3-2 comeback Champions League win over Braga.

Ferguson said: “Kagawa twisted his knee.

“He struggled on for 20 minutes but we will assess it in the morning (Wednesday) because we don’t know the extent of it at the moment.”

Kawaga could miss Sunday’s Premier League game at Chelsea if the damage is serious.

Ferguson also revealed goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard will be out for a week after suffering a thumb injury in training.

United fought back from a two-goal deficit against Braga to make it three wins out of three games in the Champions League.
