As the weeks go by it is becoming obvious to all watching that Argentinian forward Angel Di Maria is not living up to his British record £59.7 price tag, with van Gaal admitting he is finding it hard to settle into the Premier League.

As for us here at Soccer Transfers we think that it is not the Premiership that is the problem, but having to adapt to the style of play van Gaal is trying to impose on his team, where possession rather than attack is the Dutchman’s philosophy.

Add to this the attempted home invasion and a wife who refuses to return to the house, preferring to stay in a hotel and you have a player under pressure both on the field and at home.

Reports just the other day suggested that French Champions Paris Saint-Germain were ready to bring Di Maria to the Parc des Princes after not being able to sign the former Real Madrid player last summer due to FFP regulations.

It would of course come as a shock to all if the 27-year-old was to leave after just one season at Old Trafford, but if PSG were to make United a serious offer they could very well let him leave and make a move for PSV Eindhoven’s Memphis Depay who looks upon former Holland national team coach Louis van Gaal as a mentor.

Meanwhile the 21-year-old £20 million rated winger has only one year remaining on his contract with the Eredivisie club and would jump at the chance to play for van Gaal at United.
