Inter Milan trainer Roberto Mancini is looking to throw Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny a lifeline by bringing him to the San Siro next summer.

The 24-year-old Polish international lost his number one place in Arsenal’s team following a series of errors and a disastrous performance in the loss to Southampton in January, which was topped off by being caught smoking in the showers.

After finally losing his patience with Szczesny, manager Arsene Wenger gave the start to Colombian international David Ospina who seems to have settled in nicely giving the 65-year-old Frenchman no reason to put Szczesny back between the posts.

Mancini needs a new keeper at Milan after learning that 30-year-old Samir Handanovic is looking to move with Manchester United the favourites to sign the Slovenian international.

As for Arsenal, Wenger will let Szczesny leave and bring in Fiorentina’s Brazilian shot stopper Norberto Neto.
