Spanish giants Real Madrid are eager to complete the Gareth Bale transfer so that they can unveil their new star in front of the home crowd at the Santiago Bernabeu on the opening game of the season against Real Betis on Sunday August 18th.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez met with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in Miami ahead of Madrid’s pre-season game with Chelsea in which Madrid won 3-1 thanks to two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Levy is determined to get a world record £100 million for Bale with the Madrid club stuggeling to do a deal that will involve another player, and a payment plan.

Meanwhile Bale continues to turn up for training yet is not expected to feature in the friendly this weekend when Spurs take on Espanyol at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
