LVG to CHANGE TACTICS just days before the new season

Manchester United fans must be thinking oh no! here we go again, after manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that he is about to change the 4-2-3-1 formation they used throughout pre-season training and adopt a 4-3-3 system for the upcoming season.

Initially the new formation was to play to the strengths of Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera allowing them to sit in front of what van Gaal still considers to be a shaky defence, but has now changed his mind reverting back to the system they played during the second half of last season.

‘[It will be] more or less 4-3-3. We played that already last season in the second half, and I have said that is the system I want to use,’ said Van Gaal.

‘We played in our shape and played how we have to play. That’s also where I have been satisfied.’
