Sampdoria president mocks Balotelli’s wage at Liverpool

Following reports today that Mario Balotelli has been told his time at Liverpool is officially over and that he is officially seventh on Brendan Rodgers pecking order of strikers, the club will not only have to take a bath on the £16 million they paid AC Milan for the 24-year-old but may have to also pay part of his wages just to get rid of him.

With no place for him at Anfield Balotelli has been linked with a move back to Italy, and while several Serie A sides have expressed an interest they are all trying to sign him on the cheap hoping that Liverpool just wants to get rid of the prankster.

Liverpool already knows they will be lucky to get back even half of the £16 million they paid last summer, but the biggest stumbling block is the massive wage Liverpool agreed to which was given a reality check by Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero.

‘You can forget about Balotelli because it costs 10 million in salary and with 10 million I can get eight Balotelli,’ Di Marzio report.

For now Liverpool may just have to pay part of the Italians salary and send him on loan hoping that his performance will improve and catch the eye of a team prepared to make Liverpool a decent offer.
