This morning’s METRO is reporting that Liverpool are prepared to offer Newcastle United’s Hatem Ben Arfa a lifeline from his turmoil at St James Park by offering to sign him at the end of the season.

The Frenchman has fallen out with Magpies boss Alan Pardew who has banned the 27-year-old from training with the first team in after a long standing dispute between him and the player.

Ben Arfa has always said he would like to stay with the Northeast club, but at the moment the situation looks far from good and Liverpool are ready to offer him a way out.

According to reports Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is prepared to offer Newcastle £6 million for the winger in the hope that it will entice them to sell.

Ben Arfa was wanted by the Reds last summer but signed a new deal with Newcastle before a row over his behaviour erupted with Pardew.
