Liverpool is reportedly preparing a £17.1 million bid for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
Having now lost Steven Gerrard to the LA Galaxy and a season where Liverpool seemed flat going forward, manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to spice things up by signing the 25-year-old French international that is regarded around St James Park as the Magpies best player.
Sissoko is described as a box-to-box midfielder and is arguably one of the fastest players in the Premiership that would add another attack minded option to a team that lacked goals last season.
Newcastle meanwhile will be looking to re-build under new manager Steve McClaren, after just barely avoiding relegation, and with a businessman owner like Mike Ashley will be sorely tempted to sell according to Tuttomercatoweb.
