Liverpool sent scouts to Spain on Monday night to watch top Arsenal summer transfer target Antoine Griezmann to play in Real Sociedad’s 1-1 draw with Granada according to the Daily Mail.

The French winger has been getting rave reviews with the Basque club this season after having scored 16-goals in all competitions for the La Liga side who look like finishing in 5th place so no Champions League football for the 24-year-old next season should he decide to remain at his current club.

The match against Granada also gave Liverpool the chance to watch Griezmann’s teammate centre-back Inigo Martinez while also being offered the opportunity to see how a Liverpool youngster Tiago Ilori was doing while on loan at Granada.

Should Liverpool decide to go after Griezmann it will come as a blow to the Gunners who have invested a lot of time in following his development.

Meanwhile Real Sociedad teammate Carlos Vela expressed his desire to return and play for Arsenal once more telling the press Arsenal could sign him for as Little as £4 million.
