Liverpool, Bayern Munich

Liverpool has now moved ahead of both Juventus and Inter Milan in the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri after putting a cash offer on the table for the 23-year-old.

Italian duo of Juventus and Inter Milan have only approached the German giants with proposed loan deals leaving Liverpool as the only club looking to do a permanent deal.

Shaqiri moved to the Allianz Arena from Basel in 2012 for £8 million and has failed to establish a starting place in Pep Guardiola’s team leading to speculation that he wants a move so that he can play first-team football, and despite Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers claiming he is not in the market for players Sky Italia is reporting that the Reds have made an offer.
