Since arriving from AC Milan last summer for £16 million, Mario Balotelli has had a hard time settling into Brendan Rodgers team, and despite a recent run of form his record of just three goals in 24 games is not good enough.

The Daily Express is reporting that the Reds already have the Italian striker’s replacement lined up in the form of Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto.

The 21-year-old Argentinian frontman has already scored 16 goals this season and could be signed by the Merseyside outfit for as little as £12 million.

If Liverpool can get a deal done with the La Liga side, it would more or less end Balotelli’s stay at Anfield with Sampdoria said to be interested in bringing him back to Serie A, while MLS outfit Orlando City would like to try and get him to move to America where he is sure to be a hit with the Floridian fans.
