All the talk over the weekend was that Liverpool were looking to sign Barcelona’s Martin Montoya as a replacement for Glen Johnson who is expected to leave Anfield this summer.
It would now appear as though Liverpool has found another candidate in Leeds United right-back Sam Byram who they have apparently been scouting for some time now.
The Daily Star says that the England U-20 international will cost the Reds around £8 million, and that the club has already beaten off offers from Sunderland and Southampton and that the Merseyside club is positive about getting a deal done quickly.
