It looks very much like both Liverpool and Tottenham could be in battle once again over a player with both clubs interested in Fiorentina’s midfielder Adem Ljajic.

The 21-year-old has been on the Tottenham radar since refusing to sign a new contract with the Serie A club meaning that Fiorentina would like to cash in on him now rather than see him leave for free next summer.

Now that Liverpool are out of the race for Willian the young Serb is certainly the right age for the team manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to build at Liverpool and with Fiorentina only asking £7.5 million he could turn out to be a bargain.

The president of the Italian side Andrea Della Valle has accepted that Ljakic will leave saying.

“It’ difficult to see Ljajic staying with us,” Della Valle said.

“Personally I would like to keep him, of course, but one has to understand the player’s intentions and the atmosphere.”

Last season Ljakic scored 11 goals in 28 appearances for Fiorentina, and also had a goal in the Coppa Italia.

Internationally the youngster has made seven starts but has not featured since May 2012 refusing to play under Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic who makes all his players sing the Serbian national anthem before each match.

Check out the video below and see if you see a Suarez replacement in this youngster.
