Lazio midfielder wants to join Liverpool

Nigerian international Eddy Onazi has opened the door for English Premier League side Liverpool to come and get him by saying that he is eager to test himself in the Premiership according to Football Direct News.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been tracking the 21-year-olds progress at the Italian Serie A club, and believes that he has the physical build capable of competing in the English top flight.

“The Premier League in my future? I have always dreamed of being a professional footballer and here I am in Italy,” he told Mtnfootball.

“Of course I would like to play in England, but we must keep our feet on the ground and worry about the present.”

The youngster has worked his way up through Lazio’s youth system breaking into the first team this season where he has so far made 22 appearances.

Primarily a defensive midfielder who is known for his long-range passing ability and vision he has also managed to score one goal and provided three assists.

The youngster has also represented Nigeria at senior level gaining 18 caps and playing on the team that won the Africa Cup of Nations.

With Nigeria in this year’s World Cup finals in Brazil Rodgers could do well to sign him before June 12th after which his price could go up should he perform well on the top stage.
