Spanish La Liga side Valencia has failed in their attempt to sign Manchester United No.2 goalkeeper Victor Valdes according to Superdeporte.

The Spanish club is set to play in next seasons Champions League and needs to bring in a top goalkeeper following a serious injury to Diego Alves on the last day of the season.

Valencia immediately started to scour Europe for a suitable replacement and decided to target the former Barcelona shot-stopper who has an 18-month contract at Old Trafford.

According to Superdeporte the Spaniards made United an offer but it was knocked back with the situation regarding David De Gea still not settled United is determined to keep the 33-year-old at the club.
