Marco Verratti could be on his way out of PSG

Paris St Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has all of the top clubs in Europe on alert as Donato di Campli, Verratti’s agent, claims the Italian is unhappy at the club.

Verratti, 24, is contracted to PSG until 2021 and though winning many domestic titles, the Italian wants to win the Champions League and move to a top 4 European club.

When speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Campli explained “He wants to win and PSG, like it is, cannot win. He has been in Paris for five years now and he has to make a decision: earn a lot and not win or earn and become a champion”.

Campli believes Verratti will have no problem signing for a top European club when he stated “It is not a problem of money. Whoever signs Verratti will pay him a lot of money. One thing is certain: if he leaves PSG, it will be for a top European club”.

The comments made by Campli caused a stir in France and Italy so the Italian agent tried to clarify his controversial words. “I simply repeated what I have said before, it may have been misinterpreted in France. PSG are a big club, where Marco is under contract until 2021 with a big salary.”

“The fact remains that a player of his ability, after five years in Paris, is wondering about his career prospects and hoping that PSG can win the one trophy they are missing, which is the Champions League.”

“Marco has big ambitions, like PSG or any other European club.”

Speculation as to where Verrati could be heading in the summer might be to England, as Manchester United and Chelsea have strongly been linked with the 24 year old.

Many clubs will try to sign the promising midfielder if he is to leave the capital of France as the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid have also shown interest in the past. A return to Italy could also be on the cards for the Italian.
