Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Blues captain John Terry is to be offered a new one year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho revealed on Friday that Terry will sign a new one-year contract at the end of the season, and that all concerned are happy that they could make a deal.

‘John accepted that we go year-after-year, with a smile. He accepted the challenge and he won it and he is winning the challenge and the right to get one more year,’ Mourinho said.

‘That is what the club wants, that’s what John wants and that is going to happen.’

News of Terry’s new contract comes just days after the 34-year-old said he was keen to discuss his situation with the club, but understood other more pressing player’s contracts should be done first.
