HUGO LLORIS is demanding answers from Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas about the keeper’s future at White Hart Lane.

The France No 1 has been second choice at Spurs since AVB signed him from Lyon for £12million on deadline day.

And Lloris admits he is finding the situation increasingly tough to take.

He said: “The coach of Tottenham has made his choice.

“I’m training and I do the maximum but it is difficult and hard to accept.

“Such questions over my position must also be asked to the coach.”

Lloris hinted he could quit if his situation does not improve — but he would not be able to leave in January because he has already played for Lyon and Tottenham this season.

Asked if he would leave, he replied: “I feel much at ease at the club but then again everything is possible.”

Lloris has made only one Premier League start, with AVB preferring Brad Friedel as his first choice.

The France skipper said: “When you’re a competitor, you want to be on the pitch.

“I feel much at ease here, where I have been very, very well received by the players, the fans and people at the club.”

France boss Didier Deschamps has slammed AVB for keeping Lloris warming the bench at White Hart Lane.

But AVB said yesterday: “I can’t mess around with Didier’s selection. He is the French national team manager, he can do what he wants.

“I respect other managers’ selections.”

Back at home, AVB is ready to unleash Emmanuel Adebayor against the striker’s former club Arsenal in tomorrow’s North London derby.

The Spurs boss handed him a shock first league start of the season in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester City.

With leading scorer Jermain Defoe hit by a hamstring problem, Adebayor is set to keep his place against another one of his old clubs.

Villas-Boas said: “It is an important game. I suggest that to make the most of it we can use an individual’s motivations.

“That is why we used Adebayor also in the game versus City last week.

“Last year for Tottenham at Arsenal he scored from the penalty spot and had a good game. This is the type of motivation for matches like this.”

Seventh-placed Tottenham are one place and one point above the Gunners in the Premier League table.

AVB reckons it could be a straight fight between the capital rivals for fourth spot this season.

He said: “We have to finish above Arsenal. It’s obvious that Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are in a big run towards the title.”

Tomorrow is Villas-Boas’ first North London derby since taking over as boss in the summer.

He admits his chairman Daniel Levy has left him under no illusions about how important the clash is.

AVB said: “He keeps on mentioning it! But it’s normal and we have to embrace it.”
