Manchester United’s new manager Louis van Gaal is expected to waste no time in getting rid of players he does not want at Old Trafford, and is expected to start getting rid of player he does not think are up to the job of working with him from the get go.

Despite being busy leading Holland to third place in the World Cup the 62-year-old Dutchman was canvassing opinion and putting together a list of whom he will keep on and who will be for the chop.

According to Starsport some of the names on the list that could be heading towards the exit are Anderson, Javier Hernandez, Wilfried Zaha, Nani, Tom Cleverley, Chris Smalling and Bebe.

There are also big doubts hanging over the heads of Darren Fletcher, Ashley Young and Rafael, with the possibility of them not even travelling to the United States for the Red Devils pre-season tour.

Former Manchester United first-team coach Rene Meulensteen has warned the players that his fellow Dutchman will take no prisoners saying: “Louis has got his own management style, which has thrown up a few difficulties along the way wherever he’s been.

“Whether that be at Barcelona or Bayern Munich because of the way that he is, the way he puts himself in front of players.

“Players accept it or players sometimes don’t. If they don’t accept it, then yeah, you probably have a problem.

“They’ve had Sir Alex Ferguson and they’ve had a disastrous season with David Moyes, now another one comes in, so that will take time.

“United at this moment in time, will be seen by the opposition as still a team that can be beaten unless proven otherwise.”
