German international midfielder Sami Khedira was wanted by both Arsenal and Manchester United before finally deciding to join Italian champions Juventus on a free transfer last week ending months of speculation as to where he would end up.

“It was not easy at all, but you cannot always expect gratitude in this job,” he said.

“I do not want to complain, I don’t bear a grudge. It has been the most difficult moment of my career.

“I was in good shape and was training well, but I had no chance to play. These recent months have not been easy for me because my future was uncertain.”

Khedira also expressed his happiness after completing the move to Turin, “I am happy with the decision that I have taken, I appreciate the confidence of Juventus. I am happy, but also for my five years at Madrid.”
