Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is set to become the clubs highest paid player when he irons out the final details of a new £200,000 per-week five-year contract.

The new contract has been on the table for three-months as both sides continue to go over the small print.

The club for their part are keen to have the contract signed as soon as possible so they can make the announcement of the 23-year-old Belgium internationals commitment to Stamford Bridge.

The new deal will make Hazard the highest paid player at the club and kill any hope that Paris Saint-Germain had of trying to entice him to move to the French capital.

Chelsea were getting fed up with all the speculation in the press linking Hazard to the French Champions around this time last year before they were about to meet in the Champions League, and now with the two sides playing once again in the last 16 of the competition February 17th the Blues will have ended any speculation that the former Lille star will return to Ligue 1 anytime soon.
