Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has his photo splashed across all the Spanish sports newspapers this morning after coach Vicente Del Bosque gave the start to the 24-year-old ahead of veteran Iker Casillas.

DE Gea GETS START for Holland V Spain

Holland did themselves proud during last summer’s World Cup in Brazil under then trainer Louis van Gaal beating Spain 5-1, but have struggled in Euro 2016 qualifiers now that Guus Hiddink is in charge of the national team.

The team only just narrowly avoided a home defeat against Turkey on Friday thanks to a late effort from Wesley Sneijder that earned them a 1-1 draw.

With the golden years of Spanish football coming to an end Del Bosque is making huge changes to the squad playing Malaga striker Juanmi and Sevilla midfielder Vitolo as well as giving Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla a start and what should become Spain’s number one choice goalkeeper David De Gea in nets.
