DAVID DE GEA last night dismissed speculation he is homesick and ready to return to Spain.
Rumours of a January move to Real Madrid have engulfed the Manchester United keeper since he was identified as a potential long-term successor to Iker Casillas.
De Gea, 21, also has a fight on his hands with United’s No 2 Anders Lindegaard.
But, ahead of today’s crucial trip to Chelsea, De Gea said: “I am happy at United and not thinking about a return to Spain.
“I’ve accepted the challenge to learn and improve as a professional.
“And fighting for my place gives me a bigger incentive to play well.”
