Jose Mourinho wants Real Madrid to make a bid for Ashley Cole in January.

MirrorFootball revealed in August that Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti was targeting his old Chelsea left-back.

Now, another former Stamford Bridge manager is trying to steal the 31-year-old England stalwart from under PSG’s noses.

Mourinho needs a top signing to replace Marcelo, who will be out for months with a broken foot.

Cole has yet to be offered a new deal by the Blues and it would appear they do not want to give the England defender more than 12 months, in line with a new club policy on over-30s.

That means Cole could be a free agent in the summer.

It is believed he was seriously considering a switch to PSG, but could be tempted by Real if they make a move.
