Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is set to sign a new lucrative contract, that will see him stay at Stamford Bridge until 2019.

Club owner Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich is also ready to back the Portuguese manager in this summer’s transfer market as he looks to make some important changes to his title-winning team.

Mourinho is thought to be wanting to bring in a goalkeeper for the departing Petr Cech, and a top striker to compliment Diego Costa while also bringing in a strong young defender and another magician for midfield.

On Mourinho’s Radar is the inform Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazett, and Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, while for a defender it has been known for some time he wants to sign Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane to partner Kurt Zouma in the Blues back four.

As for a midfielder the verdict is still out depending on whether or not Real Madrid will put Gareth Bale up for sale, and if they decide not to the obvious choice is Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann with Mourinho using Filipe Luis as part of a deal which will ease the Frenchman’s £45 million buyout clause.

Should Chelsea manage to sign Bale Sky Sports football pundit Gary Neville thinks Chelsea will be unbeatable saying: “If he becomes available, if Chelsea win that battle, and say they lost Oscar or Ramires and got him for a net cost of £25million, I think the other teams are in trouble for the next few years, I really do.”

Just to go after a player like Bale or Paul Pogba could break Mourinho’s transfer budget, but the 52-year-old is pretty Savvy in the transfer market , not only buying players, but selling them on for a profit as was the case with Juan Mata.

Now is a good time to be a Chelsea fan, as the team play out the rest of the season knowing that they are the Premier League champions, but Mourinho still has the ambition of being the first manager to win the Champions League with three different teams and will be looking in that direction as he plans his strategy this summer.
