Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has been laying the groundwork for his summer departure from the Signal Iduna Park by dropping hints that he was ready to move abroad with us all assuming he was heading to Old Trafford.

It now however appears as if Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea are also keen on the German international centre-back with reports suggesting that the Blues are willing to outbid Manchester United for the 26-year-old.

Chelsea can easily afford to meet the Westphalia clubs asking price of £37 million and believe they can also convince the World Cup winner that he would enjoy a better life in London rather than Manchester while also being at a club that is poised to become one of Europe’s biggest players unlike United who are still in a rebuilding process under current manager Louis van Gaal.
