Chelsea, Atletico Madrid

Chelsea target Brazilian left-back Felipe Luis has refused to discuss his current contract with Atletico Madrid in the hope that it will force the Spanish club to sell him to Chelsea.

The Blues have been after the 28-year-old defender ever since they decided to release the long serving Ashley Cole at the end of last season.

Reports coming out of the Spanish capital carried in the Daily Express are saying that Luis is unhappy with his wages at Madrid and wants to move to London in order to prove himself while at the same time giving his chance of being selected for the Brazilian national team a boost.

Atletico are under no illusion that Luis wants to leave after their latest offer was rejected, but the club remains intent on not letting him leave to Chelsea for less than £19 million.

Currently Atletico is furious that Luis does not want to talk with them, and with his replacement already secured in the form of Guilherme Siqueira they will refuse to budge on their valuation waiting for Chelsea now to make the next move.
