Shakhtar Donetsk forward Douglas Costa has begged his Ukrainian club not to price him out of a dream move to Stamford Bridge as the Blues continue negotiations with Fiorentina over Juan Cuadrado.

The Italian side has already rejected one offer from Chelsea insisting that the Colombian winger will not leave for less than £26.8 million despite the 24-year-old making it clear that he wants to leave for Chelsea.

Costa, meanwhile has spoken to Shakhtar asking the club to be flexible over the £30 million that they have told Chelsea they want for him.

He said: “I put my situation to them and they said they would try to help me. Now, we’ll see if it comes to an agreement.”

Costa also said he would love to play for Jose Mourinho adding: “To play at Chelsea is a dream for any player… but really, what catches my eye is the coach.

“He is very intelligent and has been a successful coach wherever he’s been. This is one of the things that would make me happy to play at Chelsea.”

When warned about how tough it might be to get a starting role in the west London side with the likes of former teammate Willian at the club Costa said: “It would be a fair fight.

“Regardless of starting or not, I would get space, as I always have. The biggest challenge is to go there to play in the Premier League.”

The rumour now is that out of favour winger Mohamed Salah has been offered to Fiorentina as part exchange for Cuadrado.
