Both known for being hotheads Spurs Federico Fazio and Diego Costa will meet up for the first time since their epic La Liga bust up when Fazio punched striker Costa in the stomach while playing for Sevilla last January.
The Argentinian defender lashed out at the then Atletico Madrid striker after Costa had stuck his hand in Fazio’s face.
Both players remarkably managed to escape any punishment despite the incident being caught on camera.
Costa was suspended for the two clubs first Premiership meeting at Stamford Bridge last month, but will be playing today when they meet at White Hart Lane.
When Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was asked if he will remind Fazio about the incident and tell him to keep his cool, Pochettino said to the Daily Star: “But players are clever. They know what they need to do.”
The Argentinian manager has warned Chelsea they will not be playing the same side they beat 3-0 a month ago.
“We are in a different momentum to two months ago,” he said.
“We have grown and learned from that game. We need to show the same a character and spirit that we did (in the 0-0 draw) against Manchester United.”
