Chelsea Star slams Louis van Gaal over treatment of Victor Valdes

Chelsea winger Pedro has had a go at Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal over his treatment of countryman Victor Valdes.

And while the Chelsea new boy insists that this was not the reason he chose to join Chelsea rather than Manchester United, he was not quiet in expressing his feeling as to how he thought his former Barcelona teammate was being treated by Louis van Gaal.

Pedro said: “It’s true that I don’t like that treatment for my colleagues, especially for Victor, who has been a reference as a team- mate and as a professional.

“I don’t believe it’s fair, but it didn’t influence my decision.”

Chelsea entered the race for Pedro at the last minute by agreeing to pay Barcelona’s asking price in full, while Manchester United was trying to negotiate a better price.

Yet there was a time when Pedro was considering United, because he called to ask Valdes what it was like at Old Trafford.

“He told me that the club was very good and there was a great fan following, that his only problem was the situation with the coach,” he said.

“He spoke very well of the club. It’s a great club, but I believe I have chosen well to join Chelsea, I’m convinced.”
