Chelsea Star midfielder looking to leave Stamford Bridge

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is looking to leave Stamford Bridge after falling down the pecking order to Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas while also witnessing the emergence of Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The 28-year-old Nigerian international only made 18 appearances for the Blues last season, and while being told he is still a big part of manager Jose Mourinho’s plans is weighing up his options over a possible move away from the club.

Obi Mikel has made 224 appearances for Chelsea since joining the club in 2006, and would be an interesting target for many of the Premierships top sides should he decide to leave.

Now that Petr Cech has been allowed to join a fellow rival, Chelsea has opened the door for other players who wish to do the same as it would be a double standard to allow one player to join a top English team and then refuse to let another do the same.
