Chelsea, Arsenal

After having been linked to both Manchester United, and more lately to Arsenal it would appear as if Chelsea is the latest club to throw there hat in the ring for Real Madrid holding midfielder Sami Khedira.

Spanish broadsheet El Confidencial is claiming that the German international is now destined for the Premiership after the 27-year-old revealed he had no desire to renew his contract with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid just the other day signed Khedira’s German international teammate Toni Kroos for €25 million from Bayern Munich, and are also negotiating for Brazil international Luiz Gustavo who plays in the same position as Khedira for Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has already signed Cesc Fabregas this summer adding to Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic who along with the likes of Ramires, John Obi Mikel and Marco van Ginkel point to a very strong midfield.

The Portuguese manager knows Khedira well from his time at Real Madrid, and should be able to convince the German to join Chelsea rather than Arsenal but for Khedira it might very well come down to the club where he will get the most playing time after spending the majority of last season on the bench with a serious knee injury.
