Chelsea are ready to go all out in their bid to sign Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa nest summer after identifying  the La Liga hit man as their number one target.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has told the clubs upper management that the signing of a world-class striker this summer should be the first piece of business they take care of.

Chelsea has also been linked with Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao, and Luis Suarez yet it is the Brazilian born Costa that Mourinho wants according to Metro..

The Brazil-born Spanish striker is enjoying another stunning season in La Liga, scoring 21 goals in 26 matches and establishing himself as one of the best forwards in Europe, and despite interest from Real Madrid and PSG Mourinho feels that the London club are in the best position to sign him.

Chelsea already has a good relationship with Atletico after letting goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois join them on a long term loan, and even though it will be his last season with the Spanish club the relationship between them and Chelsea remains strong.

Chelsea are said to value Costa at £27 million which is less than his release clause, but should the striker also push for a move Chelsea will be hoping that some common ground can be found and that a deal can be wrapped up ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
