Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is all set to jump in and thwart Arsenal’s chances of signing German international midfielder Sami Khedira by offering the holding midfielder the £150,000 per-week salary he wants in order to leave Real Madrid.

There was talk earlier in the week linking Khedira strongly with a move to Arsenal, but negotiations stalled according to the Daily Mirror when it came to discussing the 27-year-olds salary which is already more than the highest paid player at the Emirates Mesut Özil who is believed to be on £140,000 per-week.

The German star who is all set to play in tomorrow’s World Cup final against Argentina has a year remaining on his contract with Real Madrid and has already rejected an extension with the club making him a prime target for a summer transfer.

After having just signed Cesc Fabregas for Chelsea Blues boss Jose Mourinho would love to add Khedira to his impressive squad and may way be willing to sacrifice Ramires to the Spanish giants in order to facilitate a move where he will have no trouble in meeting the players wage demands.
