Chelsea in trouble as Manchester City decides to enter the race for £34m defender

Despite having a second offer of £26 million rejected for Everton centre-back John Stones, Chelsea were still confident that they could complete the signing of the 21-year-old England international, even if it meant pushing up their bid closer to Everton’s £34 million valuation of the player.

It now appears that Manchester City are interested in buying Stones, and before Chelsea made a move to sign the youngster were said to be wanting to see him play a full season for Everton before making their move to bring him to the Etihad.

Now that Chelsea appears to be going all out for the Yorkshire man, it is forcing City to make their move a season too soon, and while Chelsea were already complain about Everton’s valuation, now they have cash rich Manchester City to compete with.
