Charlie Adam could face FA action over incident with Arsenal's Olivier Giroud

During Saturdays match between Stoke City and Arsenal at the Britannia Stadium that saw the Potters win 1-0 thanks to a Jonathan Walters penalty after the ball hit Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny’s hand in the box.

The television cameras caught a moment when Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam appeared to bring his studs down on Olivier Giroud while the French international was already lying on the ground.

Yet despite what many of us thought could have been a sending off offense the Scot got away with it without even being booked by referee Mike Jones

Following the loss Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted it was a big setback but was also highly critical of Stokes approach to the match.

“I have nothing to say about that,” said Wenger, before claiming Stoke have given away the highest number of fouls at home this season.

Now the FA must review the film and decide if Adam will in fact be charged over the incident.
