Chelsea is just one of the clubs chasing £10 million rated Torino right-back Matteo Darmian with Serie A rivals Roma and Napoli also in the hunt along with big boys Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain according to Tuttomercato .

The thinking behind Chelsea’s interest is that they want a player that can provide competition for Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic who just turned 31 last month, while also having a man in place to eventually take over the full-backs role.

The 25-year-old AC Milan graduate is highly experienced having spent time with Padova and Palermo before joining Torino in 2011.

And while signing him now would be a smart move for Jose Mourinho he will, given the competition for his signature move for more than his rated value.
