Aston Villa striker has once more been backed as favourite to join Liverpool after several large bets were placed last night on the 24-year-old to join the Reds this summer.
The odds on the Belgium international moving to Liverpool are currently 5/2 with him staying at Villa 5/2 and a move to Manchester United at 8/1.
Liverpool wants to sign Benteke, but is having a hard time justifying Villa’s £32.5 million valuation.
Villa manager Tim Sherman is adamant that the Midlands team will not lower their price while hoping Benteke will be aboard for the season ahead.
“We want Christian here,” he told Sky Sports News.
“We want to keep our best players and Christian is certainly one of those”.
