The Bulgarian hitman is set to leave United at the end of the season regardless of him taking up an extra year option on his contract.
His agent Emil Danchev when speaking to the Bulgarian media said on Sunday: “I had three meetings with [United manager Sir] Alex Ferguson.” “We should accept that he’ll try to build a team for the next three or four years and Berbatov will not be part of this team. Ferguson wants to change the playing style, to implement more speed. I was pleased with United’s position as they said they’ll not oppose Berbatov’s move in the summer.”
It will not be difficult for Berbatov to find a new home with plenty of clubs on the Continent looking for a player with his goal-scoring abilities.
