According to Antony Kastrinakis of The Sun (subscription required) Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero will be the number one summer transfer target for Barcelona.
The 25-year-old has scored 26 goals so far this season, despite missing time due to injury and is also currently unavailable after tweaking a hamstring while playing for City in the Champions League.
The Sun article claims that the Catalan giants are even prepared to get involved in a bidding war with La Liga rivals Real Madrid for the Argentinians signature.
Agüero is a close friend of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and a teammate on the Argentina national team, and it is this influence that Messi has with the City player that Barcelona is counting on to get Agüero to sign with them.
