Barcelona is prepared to meet the £33 million buyout clause of Atletico Madrid’s 27-year-old midfielder Arda Turan this summer according to reports coming out of Turkey.
Despite long term interest from Manchester United and Liverpool it is the Catalan giants who now lead the race after new coach Luis Enrique announce his plans for a major overhaul at the Nou Camp with the new manager also keen on signing another Atletico star, Koke.
Turan moved to Madrid from Galatasaray in 2011 and was pivotal in Atletico winning this seasons La Liga title for the first time since 1996.
Atletico know that they will come under pressure to sell this summer with Diego Costa, Tiago and Filipe Luis are all expected to join Chelsea , and now Barcelona could further weaken Diego Simeone’s team by going after Turan in the coming weeks by activating his £33 million buyout clause.
