MICHAEL BALLACK has written off Chelsea’s chances of winning the Champions League.

Ballack: Chelsea can't win

The May 19 final between the Blues and Bayern Munich will be played in the German side’s home ground the Allianz Arena.

And Ballack – who has played for both clubs – believes that Bayern’s home advantage will prove too much for Roberto Di Matteo’s side.

The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder said: “I think Barcelona would have been the only team capable of contesting a final abroad and winning it.

“It is a huge advantage when you are at home in a final, where a lot of emotions play a role.

“This is an emotional advantage that Chelsea cannot compensate for.”

But Ballack insists he is entirely neutral and added: “I have my fingers crossed for both sides.”
