Bale

At last a day without having to look at a photo of Gareth Bale, on the front cover of the Spanish daily sports newspaper MARCA.

Just yesterday Real Madrid president Florentino Perez told ESPN that Tottenham’s asking price seemed to be too much saying: “£100 million seems a lot to me” to sign Gareth Bale.

London’s Daily Telegraph is reporting that talks between the two clubs have now stalled with some doubt over whether the Spanish giants are willing to pay the money that Tottenham are asking for their star player.

The Spanish paper puts a different spin on it claiming that the talks that were held in Miami between Perez and Levy failed to produce the result that Madrid were looking for yet they remain optimistic that Bale will be a Real Madrid player before the start of the season.

Bale is determined more than ever to leave Tottenham now and has not featured in any of their pre-season friendlies citing various injuries as the reason.

Spurs take on Espanyol this Saturday at White Hart Lane where all eyes will be looking to see if Bale plays.

I can almost guarantee that he will not play, and that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will drag out this transfer saga till the very last day of the window.
