Spanish source AS claim that Atletico Madrid are looking to lure Liverpool striker Luis Suarez to the Vicente Calderon as a potential replacement for much wanted Colombian forward Radamel Falcao.

Atletico Madrid Line Up Move to Sign Liverpool Striker Luis Suarez

The La Liga side are riding high in second spot after collecting five wins and a draw from their opening six fixtures and this has largely been attributable to the continued efforts of goal machine Falcao which has led this source to state a move to Chelsea is on the cards.

Atletico Madrid are used to seeing their star-turns picked off and sold to Europe’s ‘Elite’, indeed Fernando Torres left the club for Liverpool in 2007 and Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan made moves to Man City and Inter Milan in recent seasons.

Therefore the Los Rojiblancos are probably reacting sensibly by lining up a potential replacement and there is no doubting that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez could help fill any potential void and if the Merseyside club are nowhere near forcing their way back into the coveted top four come January or have failed to secure a Champions League spot by the time the season ends, then perhaps the Uruguayan will feel compelled to consider his options.

Suarez is a hugely important player and is pivotal to Brendan Rodgers attack. The 25 year old netted 17 goals last term and laid on ten assists to boot. This season, despite Liverpool’s struggles, the former Ajax man has scored six goals in eight matches.
