Arsenals young Russian flop Andrey Arshavin has been signed by Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg on loan until the end of the season, with a possible full-time move in the works after that.

Arshavin goes to Zenit St. Petersburg on loan
Arshavin himself thinks that he has failed to shine while being with the Gunners and said: “Speaking honestly I think my performances for Arsenal have been average,” he said. “I’ve done some good things but don’t assess my game on goals or assists – I look at the whole picture.
“Normally when I’m on the pitch I take control of a game but I haven’t really done that here. I’m an extra tool in the team rather than the main one, so it’s been difficult.”
With the Euro’s coming up in Poland, and the Ukraine this summer I am expecting to see a rejuvenated Arshavin, and think he will have an excellent tournament playing for Russia.
Here is Arshavin’s take: “I’m excited about the tournament,” he said. “If we could repeat our performances of Euro 2008 when we reached the semi-finals it would make a good summer for us.
“It’s a big thing for Russia that we are there. I think I’m a lot more relaxed and comfortable since we qualified – and I hope that will show in my performances.”
