Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, has according to reports lost faith in Polish international goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, following a series of costly mistakes.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is also in the same boat with his keeper Simon Mignolet, who he dropped for one match before having to reinstate him after Liverpool number two keeper Brad Jones became injured.

Rodgers is determined to find a replacement this January and sees Genoa’s Mattia Perin as the perfect candidate.

Wenger however is of the same opinion after watching the 22-year-old pull off a string of saves that has Italians calling him the best keeper in Serie A.

Wenger is ready to put £12 million down on the table which should be enough to make Liverpool look elsewhere.
