There was much talk over the summer that newly promoted Burnley striker Danny Ings would be targeted by Liverpool.

The 22-year-old decided to stick with the Championship side however now that they are struggling to avoid relegation and with Ings contract up in the summer a move to a bigger club may be on the cards.

Meanwhile Burnley manager Sean Dyche insists that a new contract is being discussed telling the Daily Express: “It’s an on-going negotiation, like it is with a lot of players. We get on well with his agent, and that’s an important thing as well.

“Everyone knows where it is and that’s always been the case. We try and be open and honest in our dealings with players and we’ve certainly been that with him. Where it takes us, we’ll see.”

It would appear as Ings has made up his mind after Sky Bet reported a run of money today on Danny Ings to join Liverpool.

The Burnley striker was 10/1 for an Anfield switch this morning but is now 11/4 after consistent money on the mooted move.

He’s 2/5 to stay with the Clarets beyond the deadline.
