Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he will remain “active” in the transfer market today after Gunners fans chanted for him to sign a new striker during yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester.

“We are very active – we are working hard to find a solution,” said Wenger.

“Nobody can predict what will happen in the next 24 hours.”

Since losing Olivier Giroud until the end of the year Arsenal has once again been linked with a number of strikers including Torino’s Alessio Cerci, but unfortunately all movement came to an end on Sunday when the 27-year-old signed a three-year deal with La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.

Despite knowing that he could use a new striker and the fans reaction to the 1-1 draw with newly promoted Leicester the 64-year-old Frenchman says he will not be rushed into making any last minute deals.

“The pressure to buy is always there,” he said. “But let’s not fool ourselves that the solution every time you don’t win is to buy a new player – it would be too easy.”

Currently Monaco striker Radamel Falcao is being offered to a group of English clubs on loan, but it will remain to be seen as to whether or not Arsene Wenger thinks he is the right player for his team.
