Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has undergone minor ankle surgery according to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

Wilshere has been out of the team since getting injured against Manchester United on November 22nd and was on the bench for the 2-1 win against Crystal Palace at the weekend, but was expected to play against Everton on Sunday at the Emirates.

Wenger however broke the news today that the England international will now not feature against the Toffee’s following a small operation on his ankle.

“Jack had a little surgery on his ankle because it was irritating him a bit, but it’s a very minor procedure so he will be out for a few days,” Wenger told reporters.

“It was planned to be done at the end of the season and because he had an irritation with it we decided to do it now and it’s just a few days. Next weekend will be quick but I don’t know exactly when he will be back but it will be days not weeks.”
